4. Peer Feedback and Anonymity
Peer feedback is a core component of IQKarma.
Where IQKarma represents peer feedback as anonymous, our objective is to prevent the recipient from being shown which individual peer supplied a particular response through the normal user experience.
However, anonymous peer feedback does not necessarily mean that IQKarma possesses no technical information associated with the feedback provider. We may process information needed for:
- account authentication;
- invitation administration;
- security;
- fraud prevention;
- abuse detection;
- enforcing response limits;
- preventing duplicate submissions;
- legal compliance; and
- protecting the integrity of IQKarma's assessment system.
We may aggregate feedback or require a minimum number of peer responses before displaying results in order to reduce the likelihood that individual respondents can be identified.
Users are prohibited from attempting to circumvent anonymity safeguards or identify anonymous respondents through technical or coercive means.
5. The Person Being Assessed and the Person Providing Feedback
IQKarma's peer-feedback model creates an important distinction between:
- the member or participant receiving behavioral feedback, and
- the peer providing feedback.
Information supplied by a peer may relate both to the peer who supplied it and to the person being assessed.
As a result, privacy requests involving peer-feedback information may require us to balance multiple individuals' privacy rights and applicable legal obligations. For example, fulfilling one person's access request should not unnecessarily reveal another person's identity or confidential account information.
We may therefore aggregate, redact, withhold, or otherwise limit information when necessary to protect another individual's rights or where permitted or required by law.
6. How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients as reasonably necessary.
Service Providers
Companies providing services such as:
- cloud hosting;
- database infrastructure;
- authentication;
- payment processing;
- email or messaging;
- analytics;
- security;
- customer support;
- artificial intelligence infrastructure; and
- other technical operations.
These providers may process information on our behalf subject to contractual and legal restrictions.
Other IQKarma Users
Information may be disclosed to other users where necessary to provide a feature you intentionally use. For example, peer-feedback results may be provided to the feedback recipient in aggregated or otherwise privacy-protected form.
We do not intend to disclose an anonymous respondent's identity to the feedback recipient through the ordinary peer-feedback experience.
Professional Advisers
We may disclose information to lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers, consultants, or other professional advisers where reasonably necessary.
Legal and Safety Purposes
We may disclose information where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or lawful governmental request;
- protect the rights or safety of Behavioral Intelligence Labs, our users, or others;
- investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms; or
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Corporate Transactions
Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar corporate transaction, subject to applicable law.
7. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
Behavioral Intelligence Labs must determine whether any production data practices constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or “targeted advertising” under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
If IQKarma engages in activities legally characterized as sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, we will provide legally required notices and opt-out mechanisms.
We will not characterize IQKarma as “not selling” or “not sharing” personal information until the production advertising and analytics stack has been confirmed.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
IQKarma may use cookies, local storage, software development kits, pixels, or similar technologies to:
- authenticate users;
- maintain sessions;
- remember preferences;
- secure the Service;
- understand usage;
- diagnose problems; and
- measure Service performance.
Where required, we will provide appropriate consent or preference controls.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing the Service, maintaining legitimate business records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing fraud, and complying with legal obligations.
Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
When information is no longer required, we may delete, aggregate, or de-identify it as appropriate and subject to applicable law.
10. Account and Data Deletion
Users may request deletion of their account and eligible personal information.
Deletion requests may be subject to exceptions permitted by law, including information reasonably necessary for:
- security and fraud prevention;
- transaction records;
- legal compliance;
- exercising or defending legal claims;
- protecting another person's privacy; and
- other legally permitted purposes.
Because peer-feedback information may concern more than one person, deleting one user's account may not necessarily require deletion of all information contained in another person's account or derived from another person's independently submitted feedback.
We will evaluate such requests under applicable privacy law.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, destruction, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.
Users should protect their credentials and promptly notify us if they suspect unauthorized account access.
12. Children's Privacy
IQKarma is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in circumstances prohibited by applicable law.
If we learn that we collected such information without legally required authorization, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. California Privacy Rights
California residents may have rights concerning personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”), subject to applicability thresholds, statutory definitions, exceptions, and other requirements.
Where applicable, these rights may include the right to:
- know the categories of personal information we collect;
- request access to specific personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion of personal information;
- know categories of sources and recipients;
- opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information;
- limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information where applicable; and
- receive equal service and pricing without unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
Not every right applies in every circumstance.
California Categories of Personal Information
Depending on how you use IQKarma, categories collected may include:
- identifiers;
- customer-record information;
- commercial information;
- internet or other electronic network activity;
- geolocation information at an approximate level;
- professional or employment-related information if voluntarily supplied;
- inferences derived from other personal information; and
- potentially sensitive personal information depending on information voluntarily submitted by users.
California Requests
California residents may submit applicable privacy requests through:
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by California law and subject to appropriate verification.
14. Sensitive Personal Information
IQKarma is not designed to require users to provide highly sensitive information unless specifically necessary for an identified feature.
Users should not submit unnecessary information concerning health diagnoses, precise geolocation, government identification numbers, financial account credentials, sexual life or orientation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, political beliefs, biometric identifiers, or other highly sensitive information through open-text fields.
If IQKarma intentionally processes sensitive personal information, we will implement disclosures, controls, and safeguards required by applicable law.
15. Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, targeted advertising, sale of personal information, profiling, or other processing.
Where an applicable state privacy law grants you such rights, we will honor qualifying requests as required by law.
16. Automated Processing and Profiling
IQKarma uses automated processing to calculate behavioral scores, comparisons, metrics, recommendations, and related behavioral intelligence.
These tools are intended primarily for self-reflection and personal development.
IQKarma should not be used as the sole basis for decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning employment, housing, lending, insurance, healthcare, education, or other high-impact decisions.
17. AI and Third-Party Model Providers
Certain IQKarma functionality may use third-party artificial intelligence providers.
Information transmitted to such providers depends on the feature and technical implementation.
Before production deployment of AI-enabled behavioral analysis, Behavioral Intelligence Labs will document:
- which provider receives information;
- which categories of information are transmitted;
- whether personally identifying information is removed or minimized;
- provider retention settings;
- whether provider training on submitted information is disabled;
- security controls; and
- contractual data-processing restrictions.
18. De-Identified and Aggregated Information
We may create aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, research, benchmarking, product development, security, and Service improvement.
Where information is legally considered de-identified, we will maintain it in de-identified form and will not attempt to re-identify it except as permitted by applicable law.
19. International Users
IQKarma is initially operated by a United States company.
If you access IQKarma from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
Expansion into jurisdictions including the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other countries may require supplemental privacy notices, lawful-basis disclosures, international-transfer mechanisms, representative information, or other jurisdiction-specific provisions.
20. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Controls
Browser-based privacy signals are treated according to applicable law and the technologies used by IQKarma.
21. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to IQKarma, our data practices, or applicable law.
We will update the “Last Updated” date when we revise this Policy.
Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes.
